⁷ and ^(A)the dust returns to the earth as it was, and ^(B)the spirit returns to God ^(C)who gave it.

²² The poor man died and was carried by ^(A)the angels ^(B)to Abraham's side.^[a] The rich man also died and was buried,

²⁴ Truly, truly, I say to you, ^(A)whoever hears my word and ^(B)believes him who sent me has eternal life. He ^(C)does not come into judgment, but ^(D)has passed from death to life.

² In ^(A)my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that ^(B)I go to prepare a place for you?^[a]

³ And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you ^(A)to myself, that ^(B)where I am you may be also.

⁵² in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For ^(A)the trumpet will sound, and ^(B)the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.

⁸ Yes, we are of good courage, and we ^(A)would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

^23 (A)I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is ^(B)to depart and ^(C)be with Christ, for that is far better.

⁴ to ^(A)an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and ^(B)unfading, ^(C)kept in heaven for you,

⁹ When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under ^(A)the altar ^(B)the souls of those who had been slain ^(C)for the word of God and for ^(D)the witness they had borne. ¹⁰ They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord, ^(E)holy and true, ^(F)how long ^(G)before you will judge and ^(H)avenge our blood on ^(I)those who dwell on the earth?” ¹¹ Then they were each given ^(J)a white robe and ^(K)told to rest a little longer, ^(L)until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers^{[a] (M)}should be complete, who were to be killed as they themselves had been.
