^14 (A)In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider: God has made the one as well as the other, ^(B)so that man may not find out anything that will be after him.

²² So I saw that there is ^(A)nothing better than that a man should rejoice in his work, for ^(B)that is his lot. Who can bring him to see ^(C)what will be after him?

¹³ The end of the matter; all has been heard. ^(A)Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.^[a]

^47 (A)Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joyfulness and gladness of heart, because of the abundance of all things,

The Prayer of Faith

¹³ Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him ^(A)sing praise.

^22 (A)strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them ^(B)to continue in ^(C)the faith, and saying that ^(D)through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.

¹² And when he was in distress, he entreated the favor of the Lord his God ^(A)and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers. ¹³ He prayed to him, and ^(B)God was moved by his entreaty and heard his plea and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. ^(C)Then Manasseh knew that the Lord was God.

³ And he humbled you and ^(A)let you hunger and ^(B)fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that ^(C)man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word^[a] that comes from the mouth of the Lord.

^22 (A)So also you have sorrow now, but ^(B)I will see you again, and ^(C)your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. ^23 (D)In that day you will ^(E)ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, ^(F)whatever you ask of the Father in my name, ^(G)he will give it to you.
