¹² I know that nothing is ^(A)better for them than to rejoice, and to do good in their lives,

^22 (A)So I perceived that nothing is better than that a man should rejoice in his own works, for ^(B)that is his ^[a]heritage. ^(C)For who can bring him to see what will happen after him?

¹⁸ Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share,

^15 (A)See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always ^(B)pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.

^16 (C)Rejoice always,

^4 (A)Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

⁵ Let your ^[a]gentleness be known to all men. ^(B)The Lord is at hand.

^6 (C)Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with ^(D)thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; ⁷ and ^(E)the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Meditate on These Things

⁸ Finally, brethren, whatever things are ^(F)true, whatever things are ^(G)noble, whatever things are ^(H)just, ^(I)whatever things are pure, whatever things are ^(J)lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. ⁹ The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and ^(K)the God of peace will be with you.

³⁵ I have shown you in every way, ^(A)by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”

^41 (A)But rather give alms of ^[a]such things as you have; then indeed all things are clean to you.
