¹³ Then I saw that there is more gain in wisdom than in folly, as there is more gain in light than in darkness.

^23 (A)but if ^(B)your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

³⁴ Your eye is ^(A)the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light, but when it is ^(B)bad, your body is full of darkness. ^35 (C)Therefore be careful lest the light in you be darkness.

¹⁸ Then once more you shall ^(A)see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve him.

The Great Day of the Lord

4 ^[a] “For behold, ^(B)the day is coming, ^(C)burning like an oven, when ^(D)all the arrogant and ^(E)all evildoers ^(F)will be stubble. The day that is coming ^(G)shall set them ablaze, says the Lord of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch. ² But for you ^(H)who fear my name, ^(I)the sun ^(J)of righteousness shall rise ^(K)with healing in its wings. You shall go out ^(L)leaping like calves from the stall.

⁷ Light is sweet, and it is pleasant for the eyes to ^(A)see the sun.

^18 (A)Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but ^(B)one sinner destroys much good.
