¹⁸ You shall not bring the earnings of a prostitute or the money for a ^[a](A)dog into the house of the Lord your God as payment for any vowed offering, because both of these are an abomination to the Lord your God.

²³ For they, too, built for themselves ^(A)high places, ^(B)memorial stones, and ^[a](C)Asherim on every high hill and ^(D)under every luxuriant tree. ²⁴ There were also ^(E)male cult prostitutes in the land. They committed ^[b]all the same abominations of the nations which the Lord dispossessed before the sons of Israel.

⁷ And he tore down the cubicles of the ^(A)male cult prostitutes which were in the house of the Lord, where ^(B)the women were weaving ^[a]hangings for the Asherah.
