²⁹ “Then I said to you, ‘Do not be terrified, ^(A)or afraid of them. ^30 (B)The Lord your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you, according to all He did for you in Egypt before your eyes, ³¹ and in the wilderness where you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a ^(C)man carries his son, in all the way that you went until you came to this place.’

God’s Continuing Love for Israel

⁹ And ^(A)they sang a new song, saying:

¹⁰ “All of you stand today before the Lord your God: your leaders and your tribes and your elders and your officers, all the men of Israel, ¹¹ your little ones and your wives—also the stranger who is in your camp, from ^(A)the one who cuts your wood to the one who draws your water— ¹² that you may enter into covenant with the Lord your God, and ^(B)into His oath, which the Lord your God makes with you today, ¹³ that He may ^(C)establish you today as a people for Himself, and that He may be God to you, ^(D)just as He has spoken to you, and ^(E)just as He has sworn to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

⁵ Now ^(A)therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and ^(B)keep My covenant, then ^(C)you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is ^(D)Mine. ⁶ And you shall be to Me a ^(E)kingdom of priests and a ^(F)holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.”

Dead to Sin, Alive to God

6 What shall we say then? ^(A)Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? ² Certainly not! How shall we who ^(B)died to sin live any longer in it?

^12 (A)Here is the ^[a]patience of the saints; ^(B)here^[b] are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

³ For they being ignorant of ^(A)God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own ^(B)righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.
