^13 (A)And he declared to you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, that is, ^(B)the Ten Commandments,^{[a] (C)}and he wrote them on two tablets of stone.

^28 (A)So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights. He neither ate bread nor drank water. And he ^(B)wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.^[a]

¹⁸ And he gave to Moses, when he had finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, the ^(A)two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone, written with ^(B)the finger of God.

¹² The Lord said to Moses, ^(A)“Come up to me on the mountain and wait there, that I may give you the ^(B)tablets of stone, with the law and the commandment, which I have written for their instruction.”

⁵ Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be ^(A)my treasured possession among all peoples, for ^(B)all the earth is mine;

New Tablets of Stone

10 “At that time the Lord said to me, ^(A)‘Cut for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and come up to me on the mountain and ^(B)make an ark of wood. ² And I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets that you broke, and ^(C)you shall put them in the ark.’ ³ So I made an ark ^(D)of acacia wood, and ^(E)cut two tablets of stone like the first, and went up the mountain with the two tablets in my hand. ⁴ And ^(F)he wrote on the tablets, in the same writing as before, the Ten Commandments^{[a] (G)}that the Lord had spoken to you on the mountain out of the midst of the fire ^(H)on the day of the assembly. And the Lord gave them to me. ⁵ Then I turned and ^(I)came down from the mountain and ^(J)put the tablets in the ark that I had made. ^(K)And there they are, as the Lord commanded me.”

^9 (A)When I went up the mountain to receive the tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant that the Lord made with you, I remained on the mountain ^(B)forty days and forty nights. I neither ate bread nor drank water. ¹⁰ And ^(C)the Lord gave me the two tablets of stone written with the finger of God, and on them were all the words that the Lord had spoken with you on the mountain out of the midst of the fire ^(D)on the day of the assembly. ¹¹ And at the end of forty days and forty nights the Lord gave me the two tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant.

¹⁷ Now the appearance of the glory of the Lord was like a ^(A)devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the sight of the people of Israel. ¹⁸ Moses entered the cloud and went up on the mountain. And Moses ^(B)was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.

¹⁹ For when every commandment of the law had been declared by Moses to all the people, he took ^(A)the blood of calves and goats, ^(B)with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, ²⁰ saying, ^(C)“This is the blood of the covenant that God commanded for you.”
