The Death of Moses

34 Then Moses climbed Mount Nebo^(A) from the plains of Moab to the top of Pisgah,^(B) across from Jericho.^(C) There the Lord showed^(D) him the whole land—from Gilead to Dan,^(E)

¹⁰ And he carried me away^(A) in the Spirit^(B) to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.^(C)

² In visions^(A) of God he took me to the land of Israel and set me on a very high mountain,^(B) on whose south side were some buildings that looked like a city.

⁴⁷ (When the territory of the Danites was lost to them,^(A) they went up and attacked Leshem^(B), took it, put it to the sword and occupied it. They settled in Leshem and named^(C) it Dan after their ancestor.)^(D)

⁴⁹ “Go up into the Abarim^(A) Range to Mount Nebo^(B) in Moab, across from Jericho,^(C) and view Canaan,^(D) the land I am giving the Israelites as their own possession.

Joshua to Succeed Moses

¹² Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go up this mountain^(A) in the Abarim Range^(B) and see the land^(C) I have given the Israelites.^(D)

²⁹ They named it Dan^(A) after their ancestor Dan, who was born to Israel—though the city used to be called Laish.^(B)

⁴ Then the Lord said to him, “This is the land I promised on oath^(A) to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob^(B) when I said, ‘I will give it^(C) to your descendants.’ I have let you see it with your eyes, but you will not cross^(D) over into it.”

⁵² Therefore, you will see the land only from a distance;^(A) you will not enter^(B) the land I am giving to the people of Israel.”
