² Let ^(A)my ^[a]teaching drop as the rain,
My speech distill as the dew,
^(B)As raindrops on the tender herb,
And as showers on the grass.

^6 (A)He shall come down like rain upon the grass before mowing,
Like showers that water the earth.

²² After my words they did not speak again,
And my speech settled on them as dew.
²³ They waited for me as for the rain,
And they opened their mouth wide as for ^(A)the spring rain.

10 Ask ^(A)the Lord for ^(B)rain
In ^(C)the time of the ^[a]latter rain.
The Lord will make ^[b]flashing clouds;
He will give them showers of rain,
Grass in the field for everyone.

⁵ I will be like the ^(A)dew to Israel;
He shall ^[a]grow like the lily,
And ^[b]lengthen his roots like Lebanon.

⁴ “O Ephraim, what shall I do to you?
O Judah, what shall I do to you?
For your faithfulness is like a morning cloud,
And like the early dew it goes away.

⁴ And ^(A)he shall be like the light of the morning when the sun rises,
A morning without clouds,
Like the tender grass springing out of the earth,
By clear shining after rain.’
