²⁸ And the Lord ^(A)uprooted them from their land in anger, in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.’

^20 (A)then I will uproot them from My land which I have given them; and this house which I have ^[a]sanctified for My name I will cast out of My sight, and will make it a proverb and a ^(B)byword among all peoples.

¹⁵ For the Lord will strike Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water. He will ^(A)uproot Israel from this ^(B)good land which He gave to their fathers, and will scatter them ^(C)beyond ^[a]the River, ^(D)because they have made their ^[b]wooden images, provoking the Lord to anger.

¹⁰ ‘If you will still remain in this land, then ^(A)I will build you and not pull you down, and I will plant you and not pluck you up. For I ^(B)relent concerning the disaster that I have brought upon you.

^23 (A)But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people. ²⁴ And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles ^(B)until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

⁷ O Lord, ^(A)righteousness belongs to You, but to us shame of face, as it is this day—to the men of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and all Israel, those near and those far off in all the countries to which You have driven them, because of the unfaithfulness which they have committed against You.

⁷ Since the days of our fathers to this day ^(A)we have been very guilty, and for our iniquities ^(B)we, our kings, and our priests have been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the ^(C)sword, to captivity, to plunder, and to ^(D)humiliation,^[a] as it is this day.
