¹⁰ There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter ^(A)pass^[a] through the fire, ^(B)or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer,

³¹ ‘Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after ^(A)them, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.

²⁶ ‘You shall not eat anything with the blood, nor shall you practice divination or soothsaying.

^18 (A)“You shall not permit a sorceress to live.

¹⁹ Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted up the value of them, and it totaled fifty thousand pieces of silver.

^6 (A)Also he caused his sons to pass through the fire in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom; he practiced ^(B)soothsaying, used witchcraft and sorcery, and ^(C)consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger.

^31 (A)You shall not worship the Lord your God in that way; for every ^[a]abomination to the Lord which He hates they have done to their gods; for ^(B)they burn even their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods.

³ He burned incense in ^(A)the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, and burned ^(B)his children in the ^(C)fire, according to the abominations of the nations whom the Lord had ^(D)cast out before the children of Israel.

¹³ So Saul died for his unfaithfulness which he had ^[a]committed against the Lord, ^(A)because he did not keep the word of the Lord, and also because ^(B)he consulted a medium for guidance.
