25 “Know therefore and understand,
That from the going forth of the command
To restore and build Jerusalem

(B)So the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them. They brought the donkey and the colt, (C)laid their clothes on them, [a]and set Him on them. And a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road; (D)others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road. Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying:

“Hosanna to the Son of David!

Jesus Cleanses the Temple(H)

12 (I)Then Jesus went into the temple [b]of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the (J)money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. 13 And He said to them, “It is written, (K)‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a (L)‘den of thieves.’

14 Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them. 15 But when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying out in the temple and saying, “Hosanna to the (M)Son of David!” they were [c]indignant 16 and said to Him, “Do You hear what these are saying?”

And Jesus said to them, “Yes. Have you never read,

(N)‘Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants
You have perfected praise’?”

17 Then He left them and (O)went out of the city to Bethany, and He lodged there.

“Say to Daughter Zion,
    ‘See, your king comes to you,
gentle and riding on a donkey,

The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on. 14 The blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and he healed them.(M) 15 But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple courts, “Hosanna to the Son of David,”(N) they were indignant.(O)

16 “Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him.

“Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read,

“‘From the lips of children and infants
    you, Lord, have called forth your praise’[g]?”(P)

17 And he left them and went out of the city to Bethany,(Q) where he spent the night.
