^10 (A)Many shall purify themselves and make themselves white and be refined, but ^(B)the wicked shall act wickedly. And none of the wicked shall understand, ^(C)but those who are wise shall understand.

³⁵ and some of the wise shall stumble, so that they may be refined, ^(A)purified, and ^(B)made white, until ^(C)the time of the end, ^(D)for it still awaits the appointed time.

^11 (A)Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy.”

²⁰ The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, ^(A)did not repent of ^(B)the works of their hands nor give up worshiping ^(C)demons ^(D)and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk, ²¹ nor did they repent of their murders or their ^(E)sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God has come and ^(A)has given us understanding, so that we may know ^(B)him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and ^(C)eternal life.

^47 (A)Whoever is of God hears the words of God. ^(B)The reason why you do not hear them is that ^(C)you are not of God.”

^17 (A)If anyone's will is to do God's^[a] will, ^(B)he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I ^(C)am speaking on my own authority.

²⁵ And he said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!
