⁷ I, Daniel, alone saw the vision; the people who were with me did not see the vision, though a great trembling fell upon them, and they fled and hid themselves.^(A)

⁷ The men who were traveling with him stood speechless because they heard the voice but saw no one.^(A)

⁹ Now those who were with me saw the light but did not hear the voice of the one who was speaking to me.^(A)

¹⁰ He said, “I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.”^(A)

²¹ Indeed, so terrifying was the sight that Moses said, “I tremble with fear.”)^(A)

¹⁸ Mortal, eat your bread with quaking and drink your water with trembling and with fearfulness;

²⁴ Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them? says the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? says the Lord.^(A)

¹⁷ Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the Lord opened the eyes of the servant, and he saw; the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.^{(A) 18} When the Arameans^[a] came down against him, Elisha prayed to the Lord and said, “Strike this people, please, with blindness.” So he struck them with blindness as Elisha had asked.^{(B) 19} Elisha said to them, “This is not the way, and this is not the city; follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom you seek.” And he led them to Samaria.

²⁰ As soon as they entered Samaria, Elisha said, “O Lord, open the eyes of these men so that they may see.” The Lord opened their eyes, and they saw that they were inside Samaria.^(C)
