Speaking to God and Others

Devote yourselves(A) to prayer; stay alert in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us that God may open a door(B) to us for the message, to speak the mystery of the Messiah,(C) for which I am in prison,(D) so that I may reveal it as I am required to speak. Act wisely toward outsiders, making the most of the time.(E) Your speech should always be gracious, seasoned with salt,(F) so that you may know how you should answer each person.(G)

And pray for us, too, that God may open a door(B) for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery(C) of Christ, for which I am in chains.(D) Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise(E) in the way you act toward outsiders;(F) make the most of every opportunity.(G) Let your conversation be always full of grace,(H) seasoned with salt,(I) so that you may know how to answer everyone.(J)
