³ At the same time, pray also for us, that God may ^(A)open to us a door for the word, ^(B)to declare the mystery of Christ, ^(C)on account of which I am in prison—

¹⁹ and ^(A)also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth ^(B)boldly to proclaim ^(C)the mystery of the gospel, ²⁰ for which I ^(D)am an ambassador ^(E)in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.

²⁷ And when they arrived and gathered the church together, ^(A)they declared all that God had done with them, and ^(B)how he had ^(C)opened ^(D)a door of faith to the Gentiles.

¹³ so that it has become known throughout the whole imperial guard^[a] and ^(A)to all the rest that ^(B)my imprisonment is for Christ. ¹⁴ And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, are much more bold ^(C)to speak the word^[b] without fear.

To the Church in Philadelphia

⁷ “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: ‘The words of ^(A)the holy one, ^(B)the true one, ^(C)who has the key of David, ^(D)who opens and no one will shut, who shuts and no one opens.

⁸ “‘I know your works. Behold, I have set before you ^(E)an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.

^26 (A)the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints.

⁷ It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you ^(A)in my heart, for you are all ^(B)partakers with me of grace,^[a] both ^(C)in my imprisonment and in ^(D)the defense and confirmation of the gospel.

Triumph in Christ

¹² When ^(A)I came to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ, even though ^(B)a door was opened for me in the Lord,

^9 (A)for which I am suffering, ^(B)bound with chains as a criminal. But ^(C)the word of God is not bound!
