^5 (A)Therefore put to death ^(B)your members which are on the earth: ^(C)fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, ^(D)which is idolatry.

¹³ For ^(A)if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you ^(B)put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

¹⁹ Now ^(A)the works of the flesh are evident, which are: ^[a]adultery, ^[b]fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, ²¹ envy, ^[c]murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that ^(B)those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

²⁴ And those who are Christ’s ^(A)have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

⁹ Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. ^(A)Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor ^[a]homosexuals, nor ^[b]sodomites, ¹⁰ nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

³ But fornication and all ^(A)uncleanness or ^(B)covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; ^4 (C)neither filthiness, nor ^(D)foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, ^(E)which are not fitting, but rather ^(F)giving of thanks. ⁵ For ^[a]this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any ^(G)inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. ⁶ Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

¹³ And do not present your ^(A)members as ^[a]instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but ^(B)present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.

Living Before the World

¹¹ Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts ^(A)which war against the soul,

^18 (A)Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins ^(B)against his own body.
