⁷ rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.^(A)

¹⁷ and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love.

²⁰ built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone;^{[a](A) 21} in him the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord,^{(B) 22} in whom you also are built together spiritually^[b] into a dwelling place for God.

²³ provided that you continue securely established and steadfast in the faith, without shifting from the hope promised by the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed to every creature^[a] under heaven. I, Paul, became a minister of this gospel.^(A)

⁴ Abide in me as I abide in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me.^{(A) 5} I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.

¹⁷ comfort your hearts and strengthen them in every good work and word.^(A)

¹⁷ You therefore, beloved, since you are forewarned, beware that you are not carried away with the error of the lawless and lose your own stability.^{(A) 18} But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.^[a]

¹² giving thanks to the Father,^[a] who has enabled^[b] you^[c] to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light. ¹³ He has rescued us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son,^(A)

²⁰ giving thanks to God the Father at all times and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,^(A)
