¹⁵ I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.^(A)

¹⁷ Then the Lord said, “Shall I hide from Abraham^(A) what I am about to do?^(B)

¹³ So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy^(A) both them and the earth.^(B)

Prologue

1 The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave^(A) him to show his servants what must soon take place.^(B) He made it known by sending his angel^(C) to his servant John,^(D)

²² He instructed me and said to me, “Daniel, I have now come to give you insight and understanding.^{(A) 23} As soon as you began to pray,^(B) a word went out, which I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed.^(C) Therefore, consider the word and understand the vision:^(D)

²⁴ “Seventy ‘sevens’^[a] are decreed for your people and your holy city^(E) to finish^[b] transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone^(F) for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness,^(G) to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy Place.^[c]

²⁵ “Know and understand this: From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild^(H) Jerusalem until the Anointed One,^[d](I) the ruler,^(J) comes, there will be seven ‘sevens,’ and sixty-two ‘sevens.’ It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble.^{(K) 26} After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be put to death^(L) and will have nothing.^[e] The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood:^(M) War will continue until the end, and desolations^(N) have been decreed.^{(O) 27} He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’^[f] In the middle of the ‘seven’^[g] he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple^[h] he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed^(P) is poured out on him.^[i]”^[j]

The Throne in Heaven

4 After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open^(A) in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet^(B) said, “Come up here,^(C) and I will show you what must take place after this.”^(D)

¹⁹ “Write, therefore, what you have seen,^(A) what is now and what will take place later.
