³ As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.^(A)

⁸ and last of all he appeared to me also,^(A) as to one abnormally born.

¹² “On one of these journeys I was going to Damascus with the authority and commission of the chief priests. ¹³ About noon, King Agrippa, as I was on the road, I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, blazing around me and my companions.

²³ The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God^(A) gives it light,^(B) and the Lamb^(C) is its lamp.

¹⁶ who alone is immortal^(A) and who lives in unapproachable light,^(B) whom no one has seen or can see.^(C) To him be honor and might forever. Amen.^(D)

¹⁷ Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on^(A) Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”^(B)

⁵ There will be no more night.^(A) They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light.^(B) And they will reign for ever and ever.^(C)
