⁹ If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well,

⁷ And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

¹⁴ If you are ^[a]reproached for the name of Christ, ^(A)blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. ^[b]On their part He is blasphemed, ^(B)but on your part He is glorified.

¹⁵ But ^[a]sanctify ^[b]the Lord God in your hearts, and always ^(A)be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the ^(B)hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; ^16 (C)having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. ¹⁷ For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

³² Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?”

²³ If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath, so that the law of Moses should not be broken, are you angry with Me because ^(A)I made a man completely well on the Sabbath?
