¹⁵ But ^(A)since it is a matter of questions about words and names and ^(B)your own law, see to it yourselves. I refuse to be a judge of these things.”

¹⁹ Rather they ^(A)had certain points of dispute with him about their own religion and about ^(B)a certain Jesus, who was dead, but whom Paul asserted to be alive.

²⁹ I found that he was being accused ^(A)about questions of their law, but ^(B)charged with nothing deserving death or imprisonment.

^4 (A)he is puffed up with conceit and ^(B)understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for ^(C)controversy and for ^(D)quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions,

¹¹ If then I am a wrongdoer and have committed anything for which I deserve to die, I do not seek to escape death. But if there is nothing to their charges against me, no one can give me up to them. ^(A)I appeal to Caesar.”

Pilate Delivers Jesus to Be Crucified

²⁴ So when Pilate saw that he was gaining nothing, but rather that ^(A)a riot was beginning, he took water and ^(B)washed his hands before the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of ^(C)this man's blood;^{[a] (D)}see to it yourselves.”

⁹ But ^(A)avoid foolish ^(B)controversies, ^(C)genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for ^(D)they are unprofitable and worthless.

²³ Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant ^(A)controversies; you know that they breed quarrels.

⁴ nor ^(A)to devote themselves to myths and endless ^(B)genealogies, which promote ^(C)speculations rather than the stewardship^[a] from God that is by faith.
