^12 (A)Many of them therefore believed, with not a few Greek ^(B)women of high standing as well as men.

^50 (A)But the Jews incited the devout ^(B)women of high standing and the leading men of the city, ^(C)stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and ^(D)drove them out of their district.

¹⁴ for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says,

14 Now at Iconium ^(A)they entered together into the Jewish synagogue and spoke in such a way that a great number of both Jews and Greeks believed.

²¹ Therefore ^(A)put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with ^(B)meekness the implanted word, ^(C)which is able to save your souls.

¹⁰ and ^(A)the rich in his humiliation, because ^(B)like a flower of the grass^[a] he will pass away.

²⁶ For consider your calling, brothers: ^(A)not many of you were wise according to worldly standards,^[a] not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth.

² And Paul went in, ^(A)as was his custom, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them ^(B)from the Scriptures, ^3 (C)explaining and proving that it was necessary for ^(D)the Christ to suffer and ^(E)to rise from the dead, and saying, “This Jesus, whom I proclaim to you, is the Christ.” ⁴ And ^(F)some of them were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, as did ^(G)a great many of the devout ^(H)Greeks and not a few of the leading women.

⁴⁶ And Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, saying, “It was necessary that the word of God ^(A)be spoken first to you. ^(B)Since you thrust it aside and judge yourselves ^(C)unworthy of eternal life, behold, we ^(D)are turning to the Gentiles.
