Timothy Joins Paul and Silas

16 Then he came to ^(A)Derbe and Lystra. And behold, a certain disciple was there, ^(B)named Timothy, ^(C)the son of a certain Jewish woman who believed, but his father was Greek.

⁵ when I call to remembrance ^(A)the ^[a]genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and ^(B)your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also.

² To Timothy, a ^(A)beloved son:

Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

² To Timothy, a ^(A)true son in the faith:

^(B)Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

² and sent ^(A)Timothy, our brother and minister of God, and our fellow laborer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you and encourage you concerning your faith,

¹⁷ For this reason I have sent ^(A)Timothy to you, ^(B)who is my beloved and faithful son in the Lord, who will ^(C)remind you of my ways in Christ, as I ^(D)teach everywhere ^(E)in every church.

²² So he sent into Macedonia two of those who ministered to him, ^(A)Timothy and ^(B)Erastus, but he himself stayed in Asia for a time.

^5 (A)When Silas and Timothy had come from Macedonia, Paul was ^(B)compelled ^[a]by the Spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus is the Christ.
