³⁹ and ^(A)by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

^16 (A)knowing that a man is not ^[a]justified by the works of the law but ^(B)by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not ^(C)by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.

³ For ^(A)what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, ^(B)God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh,

¹⁹ for ^(A)the law made nothing ^[a]perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of ^(B)a better hope, through which ^(C)we draw near to God.

⁴ For ^(A)Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

¹⁰ For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Christ’s Death Perfects the Sanctified

¹¹ And every priest stands ^(A)ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.

⁴ For ^(A)it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.

²¹ Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. ²² But the Scripture has confined ^(A)all under sin, ^(B)that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. ²³ But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, ^[a]kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. ²⁴ Therefore ^(C)the law was our ^[b]tutor to bring us to Christ, ^(D)that we might be justified by faith. ²⁵ But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.

Free from Indwelling Sin

8 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, ^(A)who^[a] do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
