⁴ And when he had seized him, he put him ^(A)in prison, delivering him over to four ^(B)squads of soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring him out to the people.

³³ Peter^[a] said to him, “Lord, I am ready to go with you both ^(A)to prison and ^(B)to death.”

¹² But before all this ^(A)they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to ^(B)the synagogues and ^(C)prisons, and you ^(D)will be brought before ^(E)kings and ^(F)governors for my name's sake.

^28 (A)to do whatever your hand and ^(B)your plan had predestined to take place.

³ And they arrested them and ^(A)put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening.

^18 (A)Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, ^(B)you used to dress yourself and walk wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you do not want to go.”

Jesus Foretells Peter's Denial

³⁶ Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, where are you going?” ^(A)Jesus answered him, “Where I am going ^(B)you cannot follow me now, ^(C)but you will follow afterward.” ^37 (D)Peter said to him, “Lord, why can I not follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.” ³⁸ Jesus answered, “Will you lay down your life for me? Truly, truly, I say to you, ^(E)the rooster will not crow till you have denied me three times.

⁶⁴ Therefore order the tomb to be made secure until the third day, ^(A)lest his disciples go and steal him away and tell the people, ‘He has risen from the dead,’ and the last fraud will be worse than the first.” ⁶⁵ Pilate said to them, “You have ^(B)a guard^[a] of soldiers. Go, make it as secure as you can.” ⁶⁶ So they went and made the tomb secure by ^(C)sealing the stone and setting a guard.
