⁴ So ^(A)when he had arrested him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four ^[a]squads of soldiers to keep him, intending to bring him before the people after Passover.

³³ But he said to Him, “Lord, I am ready to go with You, both to prison and to death.”

^12 (A)But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and ^(B)prisons. ^(C)You will be brought before kings and rulers ^(D)for My name’s sake.

^28 (A)to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done.

³ And they laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening.

^18 (A)Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.”

Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial

³⁶ Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, where are You going?”

Jesus answered him, “Where I ^(A)am going you cannot follow Me now, but ^(B)you shall follow Me afterward.”

³⁷ Peter said to Him, “Lord, why can I not follow You now? I will ^(C)lay down my life for Your sake.”

³⁸ Jesus answered him, “Will you lay down your life for My sake? Most assuredly, I say to you, the rooster shall not ^(D)crow till you have denied Me three times.

⁶⁴ Therefore command that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest His disciples come ^[a]by night and steal Him away, and say to the people, ‘He has risen from the dead.’ So the last deception will be worse than the first.”

⁶⁵ Pilate said to them, “You have a guard; go your way, make it as secure as you know how.” ⁶⁶ So they went and made the tomb secure, ^(A)sealing the stone and setting the guard.

⁵ But they said, “Not during the feast, lest there be an uproar among the ^(A)people.”
