⁹ After saying this, he was taken up into a cloud while they were watching, and they could no longer see him.

¹³ As my vision continued that night, I saw someone like a son of man^[a] coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient One and was led into his presence.

The Ascension

⁵⁰ Then Jesus led them to Bethany, and lifting his hands to heaven, he blessed them. ⁵¹ While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up to heaven.

¹⁹ When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand.

² until the day he was taken up to heaven after giving his chosen apostles further instructions through the Holy Spirit.

⁹ Then the Lord said to Moses, “I will come to you in a thick cloud, Moses, so the people themselves can hear me when I speak with you. Then they will always trust you.”

Moses told the Lord what the people had said.

¹² Then a loud voice from heaven called to the two prophets, “Come up here!” And they rose to heaven in a cloud as their enemies watched.

⁸ That is why the Scriptures say,

⁹ Notice that it says “he ascended.” This clearly means that Christ also descended to our lowly world.^{[b] 10} And the same one who descended is the one who ascended higher than all the heavens, so that he might fill the entire universe with himself.

¹¹ Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. ¹² Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.

⁶² Then what will you think if you see the Son of Man ascend to heaven again?

²⁷ Then everyone will see the Son of Man^[a] coming on a cloud with power and great glory.^[b]
