⁹ After he said this, he was taken up^(A) before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.

¹³ “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man,^[a](A) coming^(B) with the clouds of heaven.^(C) He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence.

The Ascension of Jesus

⁵⁰ When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany,^(A) he lifted up his hands and blessed them. ⁵¹ While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven.^(B)

¹⁹ After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven^(A) and he sat at the right hand of God.^(B)

² until the day he was taken up to heaven,^(A) after giving instructions^(B) through the Holy Spirit to the apostles^(C) he had chosen.^(D)

⁹ The Lord said to Moses, “I am going to come to you in a dense cloud,^(A) so that the people will hear me speaking^(B) with you and will always put their trust^(C) in you.” Then Moses told the Lord what the people had said.

¹² Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.”^(A) And they went up to heaven in a cloud,^(B) while their enemies looked on.

⁸ This is why it^[a] says:

⁹ (What does “he ascended” mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions^[c]? ¹⁰ He who descended is the very one who ascended^(C) higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.)^{(D) 11} So Christ himself gave^(E) the apostles,^(F) the prophets,^(G) the evangelists,^(H) the pastors and teachers,^{(I) 12} to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ^(J) may be built up^(K)

⁶² Then what if you see the Son of Man^(A) ascend to where he was before!^(B)
