23 and they [a]sent this letter with them:

(A)The apostles and the brothers who are elders, to (B)the brothers and sisters in (C)Antioch, (D)Syria, and (E)Cilicia who are from the Gentiles: (F)Greetings.

24 Since we have heard that (G)some [b]of our number to whom we gave no instruction have (H)confused you by their [c]teaching, upsetting your souls, 25 (I)it seemed good to us, having [d]become of one mind, to select men to send to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26 men who have [e](J)risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27 Therefore, we have sent (K)Judas and (L)Silas, who themselves will also report the same things by word of mouth. 28 For (M)it seemed good to (N)the Holy Spirit and to (O)us to lay upon you no greater burden than these essentials: 29 that you abstain from (P)things sacrificed to idols, from (Q)blood, from (R)things strangled, and from (S)acts of sexual immorality; [f]if you keep yourselves free from such things, you will do well. Farewell.”

23 having written through their hand thus: `The apostles, and the elders, and the brethren, to those in Antioch, and Syria, and Cilicia, brethren, who [are] of the nations, greeting;

24 seeing we have heard that certain having gone forth from us did trouble you with words, subverting your souls, saying to be circumcised and to keep the law, to whom we did give no charge,

25 it seemed good to us, having come together with one accord, chosen men to send unto you, with our beloved Barnabas and Paul --

26 men who have given up their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ --

27 we have sent, therefore, Judas and Silas, and they by word are telling the same things.

28 `For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, no more burden to lay upon you, except these necessary things:

29 to abstain from things offered to idols, and blood, and a strangled thing, and whoredom; from which keeping yourselves, ye shall do well; be strong!'

23 With them they sent the following letter:

The apostles and elders, your brothers,

To the Gentile believers in Antioch,(A) Syria(B) and Cilicia:(C)

Greetings.(D)

24 We have heard that some went out from us without our authorization and disturbed you, troubling your minds by what they said.(E) 25 So we all agreed to choose some men and send them to you with our dear friends Barnabas and Paul— 26 men who have risked their lives(F) for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27 Therefore we are sending Judas and Silas(G) to confirm by word of mouth what we are writing. 28 It seemed good to the Holy Spirit(H) and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements: 29 You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality.(I) You will do well to avoid these things.

Farewell.
