³ For I ^(A)rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth.

Walk in Christ’s Commandments

⁴ I ^(A)rejoiced greatly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, as we received commandment from the Father.

² because of the truth which abides in us and will be with us forever:

Encouraged by Timothy

^6 (A)But now that Timothy has come to us from you, and brought us good news of your faith and love, and that you always have good remembrance of us, greatly desiring to see us, ^(B)as we also to see you— ⁷ therefore, brethren, in all our affliction and distress ^(C)we were comforted concerning you by your faith. ⁸ For now we live, if you ^(D)stand fast in the Lord.

⁹ For what thanks can we render to God for you, for all the joy with which we rejoice for your sake before our God,

Desire to Visit Rome

⁸ First, ^(A)I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that ^(B)your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. ⁹ For ^(C)God is my witness, ^(D)whom I serve ^[a]with my spirit in the gospel of His Son, that ^(E)without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers,

⁴ I have no greater ^(A)joy than to hear that ^(B)my children walk in ^[a]truth.

¹⁹ For ^(A)what is our hope, or joy, or ^(B)crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you in the ^(C)presence of our Lord Jesus Christ ^(D)at His coming? ²⁰ For you are our glory and joy.

⁷ as you also learned from ^(A)Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is ^(B)a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf, ⁸ who also declared to us your ^(C)love in the Spirit.
