2 Kings 2:19-22
New English Translation
Elisha Demonstrates His Authority
19 The men of the city said to Elisha, “Look, the city has a good location, as our[a] master can see. But the water is bad and the land doesn’t produce crops.”[b] 20 Elisha[c] said, “Get me a new jar and put some salt in it.” So they got it. 21 He went out to the spring and threw the salt in. Then he said, “This is what the Lord has said, ‘I have purified[d] this water. It will no longer cause death or fail to produce crops.’”[e] 22 The water has been pure to this very day, just as Elisha prophesied.[f]

Lexham English Bible
19 The men of the city said to Elisha, “Please now, the location of the city is good, as my master can see, but the water is bad and the land unproductive.” 20 So he said, “Bring me a new bowl and put salt in it.” So they brought it to him. 21 Then he went out to the spring of waters and threw the salt into it there and said, “Thus says Yahweh, ‘I hereby purify these waters; let there be no longer any death or unproductiveness from it.’” 22 Then the waters were purified until this very day according to the word of Elisha that he spoke.
