Joash (Jehoash) Succeeded by Amaziah in Judah

19 Now as for the rest of the acts of Joash and everything that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? 20 And (A)his servants rose up and formed a conspiracy; and they (B)struck and killed Joash at (C)the house of Millo as he was going down to Silla. 21 For Jozacar the son of Shimeath and Jehozabad the son of (D)Shomer, his servants, struck him and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David, and his son (E)Amaziah became king in his place.

Joash Assassinated

19 The rest of the events of Joash’s reign, along with all his accomplishments, are written in the Historical Record of Judah’s Kings.(A) 20 Joash’s servants conspired against him and attacked him(B) at Beth-millo(C) on the road that goes down to Silla. 21 It was his servants Jozabad[a] son of Shimeath and Jehozabad son of Shomer who attacked him. He died(D) and they buried him with his ancestors in the city of David, and his son Amaziah became king in his place.(E)
