Dealing With False Teachers

¹⁴ Keep reminding God’s people of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words;^(A) it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen.

²³ Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.^(A)

⁹ But avoid^(A) foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels^(B) about the law,^(C) because these are unprofitable and useless.^{(D) 10} Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them.^{(E) 11} You may be sure that such people are warped and sinful; they are self-condemned.

The Weak and the Strong

14 Accept the one whose faith is weak,^(A) without quarreling over disputable matters.

4 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead,^(A) and in view of his appearing^(B) and his kingdom, I give you this charge:^(C)

²¹ I charge you, in the sight of God and Christ Jesus^(A) and the elect angels, to keep these instructions without partiality, and to do nothing out of favoritism.

⁹ Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings.^(A) It is good for our hearts to be strengthened^(B) by grace, not by eating ceremonial foods,^(C) which is of no benefit to those who do so.^(D)

¹³ In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate^(A) made the good confession,^(B) I charge you^(C)

⁸ But look, you are trusting^(A) in deceptive^(B) words that are worthless.
