⁹ The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan ^(A)with all power and false signs and wonders,

²⁴ For ^(A)false christs and ^(B)false prophets will arise and ^(C)perform great signs and wonders, ^(D)so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.

²⁰ And the beast was captured, and with it ^(A)the false prophet ^(B)who in its presence^[a] had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who ^(C)worshiped its image. These two were ^(D)thrown alive into the lake of ^(E)fire that burns with sulfur.

⁴⁸ So Jesus said to him, ^(A)“Unless you^[a] see signs and wonders you will not believe.”

^2 (A)in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following ^(B)the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in ^(C)the sons of disobedience—

³ But I am afraid that ^(A)as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts ^(B)will be led astray from a ^(C)sincere and ^(D)pure devotion to Christ.

13 “If a prophet or ^(A)a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, ² and ^(B)the sign or wonder that he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, ‘Let us go after other gods,’ which you have not known, ‘and let us serve them,’

^22 (A)For false christs and false prophets will arise and ^(B)perform signs and wonders, ^(C)to lead astray, if possible, ^(D)the elect.
