⁸ And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus^[a] will destroy^[b] with the breath of his mouth, annihilating him by the manifestation of his coming.^(A)

²⁰ And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed in its presence the signs by which he deceived those who had received the brand of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. ²¹ And the rest were killed by the sword of the rider on the horse, the sword that came from his mouth, and all the birds were gorged with their flesh.

³ Let no one deceive you in any way, for that day will not come unless the rebellion comes first and the lawless one^[a] is revealed, the one destined for destruction.^[b](A)

¹⁰ And the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

¹⁵ From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule^[a] them with a scepter of iron; he will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty.^(A)

¹¹ I watched then because of the noise of the arrogant words that the horn was speaking. And as I watched, the beast was put to death and its body destroyed and given over to be burned with fire.^(B)

¹³ while we wait for the blessed hope and the manifestation of the glory of our great God and Savior,^[a] Jesus Christ.^(A)

¹⁶ Repent, then. If not, I will come to you soon and wage war against them with the sword of my mouth.^(A)

⁹ And the kings of the earth, who engaged in sexual immorality^[a] and lived in luxury with her, will weep and wail over her when they see the smoke of her burning;^{(B) 10} they will stand far off, in fear of her torment, and say,
