¹³ And David took more ^(A)concubines and wives from Jerusalem, after he came from Hebron, and more sons and daughters were born to David.

⁹ All these were David's sons, besides the sons of the concubines, ^(A)and Tamar was their sister.

¹⁷ And he ^(A)shall not acquire many wives for himself, lest his heart turn away, ^(B)nor shall he acquire for himself excessive silver and gold.

²¹ But Abijah grew mighty. And he took fourteen wives and had twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters.

Rehoboam's Family

¹⁸ Rehoboam took as wife Mahalath the daughter of Jerimoth the son of David, and of Abihail the daughter of ^(A)Eliab the son of Jesse, ¹⁹ and she bore him sons, Jeush, Shemariah, and Zaham. ²⁰ After her he took ^(B)Maacah the daughter of Absalom, who bore him ^(C)Abijah, Attai, Ziza, and Shelomith. ²¹ Rehoboam loved Maacah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and concubines (he took eighteen wives and sixty concubines, and fathered twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters).

³ And David took more wives in Jerusalem, and David fathered more sons and daughters. ^4 (A)These are the names of the children born to him in Jerusalem: ^(B)Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon, ⁵ Ibhar, Elishua, Elpelet, ⁶ Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia, ⁷ Elishama, ^(C)Beeliada and ^(D)Eliphelet.

^5 (A)Abraham gave all he had to Isaac. ⁶ But to the sons of his concubines Abraham gave gifts, and while he was still living he ^(B)sent them away from his son Isaac, eastward ^(C)to the east country.
