^16 (A)And when the ^[a]angel stretched out His hand over Jerusalem to destroy it, ^(B)the Lord relented from the destruction, and said to the angel who was destroying the people, “It is enough; now restrain your hand.” And the angel of the Lord was by the threshing floor of ^[b]Araunah the Jebusite.

²³ Then immediately an angel of the Lord ^(A)struck him, because ^(B)he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and ^[a]died.

^11 (A)“I greatly regret that I have set up Saul as king, for he has ^(B)turned back from following Me, ^(C)and has not performed My commandments.” And it ^(D)grieved Samuel, and he cried out to the Lord all night.

^23 (A)For the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when He sees the ^(B)blood on the ^[a]lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and ^(C)not allow ^(D)the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.

⁶ And ^(A)the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and ^(B)He was grieved in His ^(C)heart.

Sennacherib’s Defeat and Death^(A)

³⁵ And ^(B)it came to pass on a certain night that the ^[a]angel of the Lord went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses—all dead.

^21 (A)Then the Lord sent an angel who cut down every mighty man of valor, leader, and captain in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned ^(B)shamefaced to his own land. And when he had gone into the temple of his god, some of his own offspring struck him down with the sword there.

Solomon Builds the Temple^(A)

3 Now ^(B)Solomon began to build the house of the Lord at ^(C)Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where ^[a]the Lord had appeared to his father David, at the place that David had prepared on the threshing floor of ^(D)Ornan^[b] the Jebusite.
