²⁰ You came only yesterday, and shall I today make you wander about with us, since I go ^(A)I know not where? Go back and take your brothers with you, and may the Lord show^[a] steadfast love and faithfulness to you.”

¹³ Then David and his men, ^(A)who were about six hundred, arose and departed from Keilah, and they went ^(B)wherever they could go. When Saul was told that David had escaped from Keilah, he gave up the expedition.

⁶ Now may the Lord show steadfast love and faithfulness to you. And I will do good to you because you have done this thing.

^37 (A)They were stoned, they were sawn in two,^{[a] (B)}they were killed with the sword. ^(C)They went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, mistreated— ³⁸ of whom the world was not worthy—^(D)wandering about in deserts and mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

¹⁷ For ^(A)the law was given through Moses; ^(B)grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

¹⁶ May the Lord grant mercy to ^(A)the household of Onesiphorus, for he often ^(B)refreshed me and was not ashamed of ^(C)my chains, ¹⁷ but when he arrived in Rome ^(D)he searched for me earnestly and found me— ¹⁸ may the Lord grant him to find mercy from the Lord on ^(E)that day!—and you well know all the service he ^(F)rendered at Ephesus.
