⁴ For if God did not spare ^(A)angels when they sinned, but ^(B)cast them into hell^[a] and committed them to chains^[b] of gloomy darkness ^(C)to be kept until the judgment;

⁶ And ^(A)the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of the great day—

⁴¹ “Then he will say to those on his left, ^(A)‘Depart from me, you ^(B)cursed, into ^(C)the eternal fire prepared for ^(D)the devil and his angels.

^32 (A)He who did not spare his own Son but ^(B)gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

The Thousand Years

20 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, ^(A)holding in his hand the key to ^(B)the bottomless pit^[a] and a great chain. ² And he seized ^(C)the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and ^(D)bound him for a thousand years, ³ and threw him into ^(E)the pit, and shut it and ^(F)sealed it over him, so that ^(G)he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while.

Satan Thrown Down to Earth

⁷ Now war arose in heaven, ^(A)Michael and ^(B)his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, ⁸ but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. ⁹ And ^(C)the great dragon was thrown down, ^(D)that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, ^(E)the deceiver of the whole world—^(F)he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

¹⁰ and the devil ^(A)who had deceived them was ^(B)thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where ^(C)the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

^4 (A)And my eye will not spare you, nor will I have pity, but ^(B)I will punish you for your ways, while your abominations are in your midst. ^(C)Then you will know that I am the Lord.
