² And he sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the secretary, and the senior priests, ^(A)covered with sackcloth, to the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz.

1 The ^(A)vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem ^(B)in the days of ^(C)Uzziah, ^(D)Jotham, ^(E)Ahaz, and ^(F)Hezekiah, kings of Judah.

The Mountain of the Lord

2 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

⁴ As it is written in ^(A)the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet,

^14 (A)so that what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:

² And he sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the secretary, and the senior priests, covered with sackcloth, to the prophet ^(A)Isaiah the son of Amoz. ³ They said to him, “Thus says Hezekiah, ‘This day is a ^(B)day of distress, of rebuke, and of disgrace; ^(C)children have come to the point of birth, and there is no strength to bring them forth. ^4 (D)It may be that the Lord your God will hear the words of the Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to mock the living God, and will rebuke the words that the Lord your God has heard; therefore lift up your prayer for ^(E)the remnant that is left.’”

⁵ When the servants of King Hezekiah came to Isaiah,

²² Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, from first to last, ^(A)Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz wrote.

¹³ “Go, inquire of the Lord for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that has been found. For great is ^(A)the wrath of the Lord that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not obeyed the words of this book, to do according to all that is written concerning us.”

¹⁴ So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asaiah went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of ^(B)Tikvah, son of ^(C)Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe (now she lived in Jerusalem in ^(D)the Second Quarter), and they talked with her.

¹⁸ And when they called for the king, there came out to them ^(A)Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who was over the household, and ^(B)Shebnah the secretary, and Joah the son of Asaph, the recorder.
