^9 (A)Whoever ^[a]transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.

^16 [a]Jesus answered them and said, ^(A)“My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. ^17 (B)If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority.

³ that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is ^(A)with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.

^22 (A)Who is a liar but he who denies that ^(B)Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. ^23 (C)Whoever denies the Son does not have the ^(D)Father either; ^(E)he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

Let Truth Abide in You

²⁴ Therefore let that abide in you ^(F)which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, ^(G)you also will abide in the Son and in the Father.

¹⁰ not ^[a]pilfering, but showing all good ^[b]fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.

^42 (A)And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ ^[a]doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

⁶ Jesus said to him, “I am ^(A)the way, ^(B)the truth, and ^(C)the life. ^(D)No one comes to the Father ^(E)except through Me.

The Peril of Not Progressing

6 Therefore, ^(A)leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to ^[a]perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from ^(B)dead works and of faith toward God,

¹⁶ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another ^(A)in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
