²¹ for ^(A)we aim at what is honorable ^(B)not only in the Lord's sight but also in the sight of man.

^17 (A)Repay no one evil for evil, but ^(B)give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.

^12 (A)Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, ^(B)they may see your good deeds and glorify God on ^(C)the day of visitation.

⁵ to be self-controlled, ^(A)pure, ^(B)working at home, kind, and ^(C)submissive to their own husbands, ^(D)that the word of God may not be reviled. ⁶ Likewise, urge ^(E)the younger men to be self-controlled. ⁷ Show yourself in all respects to be ^(F)a model of good works, and in your teaching ^(G)show integrity, ^(H)dignity, ⁸ and ^(I)sound speech that cannot be condemned, ^(J)so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.

⁸ Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

¹⁴ So I would have ^(A)younger widows marry, bear children, ^(B)manage their households, and ^(C)give the adversary no occasion for slander.

²² Abstain from every form of evil.

⁹ So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to ^(A)please him. ¹⁰ For ^(B)we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, ^(C)so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

The Ministry of Reconciliation

¹¹ Therefore, knowing ^(D)the fear of the Lord, we persuade others. But ^(E)what we are is known to God, and I hope it is known also to your conscience.

¹⁷ For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God's word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.

¹⁸ Whoever thus serves Christ is ^(A)acceptable to God and approved by men.
