¹⁶ But thanks be to God who ^[a]puts the same earnest care for you into the heart of Titus.

^17 (A)For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, ^(B)until the words of God are fulfilled.

²⁰ For I have no one ^(A)like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state.

¹² Therefore, although I wrote to you, I did not do it for the sake of him who had done the wrong, nor for the sake of him who suffered wrong, ^(A)but that our care for you in the sight of God might appear to you.

⁷ and not only by his coming, but also by the ^[a]consolation with which he was comforted in you, when he told us of your earnest desire, your mourning, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced even more.

^13 (A)I had no rest in my spirit, because I did not find Titus my brother; but taking my leave of them, I departed for Macedonia.

¹⁴ Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us ^[a]diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.

A New Covenant

³¹ “Behold, the ^(A)days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah—

^27 (A)Blessed^[a] be the Lord God of our fathers, ^(B)who has put such a thing as this in the king’s heart, to beautify the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem,

¹⁷ And ^(A)whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

⁴⁰ And ^(A)I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good; but ^(B)I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me.
