¹⁸ All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation;^(A)

²⁰ and through him God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross.^(A)

²¹ And you who were once estranged and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds,

¹⁹ that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself,^[a] not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting the message of reconciliation to us.^{(A) 20} So we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us; we entreat you on behalf of Christ: be reconciled to God.^(B)

¹⁰ For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more surely, having been reconciled, will we be saved by his life.^{(A) 11} But more than that, we even boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

¹⁶ and might reconcile both to God in one body^[a] through the cross, thus putting to death that hostility through it.^{[b](A) 17} So he came and proclaimed peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near,

Results of Justification

5 Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we^[a] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,^(A)

¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.^(A)

¹⁶ for in^[a] him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers—all things have been created through him and for him. ¹⁷ He himself is before all things, and in^[b] him all things hold together.

³⁶ For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever. Amen.^(A)

² and he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.^(A)
