¹⁵ and He died for all, ^(A)that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.

⁷ For ^(A)none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself. ⁸ For if we ^(B)live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. ⁹ For ^(C)to this end Christ died ^[a]and rose and lived again, that He might be ^(D)Lord of both the dead and the living.

¹⁴ as obedient children, not ^(A)conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; ^15 (B)but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,

² that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, ^(A)but for the will of God. ³ For we have spent enough of our past ^[a]lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles—when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries. ⁴ In regard to these, they think it strange that you do not run with them in the same flood of dissipation, speaking evil of you.

Not Carnality but Christ

3 If then you were ^(A)raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, ^(B)where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.

¹⁷ And ^(A)whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

^9 (A)In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten ^(B)Son into the world, that we might live through Him.

^14 (A)who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed ^(B)and purify for Himself ^(C)His own special people, zealous for good works.

¹⁹ For I ^(A)through the law ^(B)died to the law that I might ^(C)live to God. ²⁰ I have been ^(D)crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh ^(E)I live by faith in the Son of God, ^(F)who loved me and gave Himself for me.
