^6 (A)being ready to punish every disobedience, ^(B)when your obedience is complete.

⁹ For this is why I wrote, that I might ^(A)test you and know ^(B)whether you are obedient in everything.

²⁶ And he spoke to the congregation, saying, ^(A)“Depart, please, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest you be swept away with all their sins.” ²⁷ So they got away from the dwelling of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram. And Dathan and Abiram came out and stood ^(B)at the door of their tents, together with their wives, their sons, and their little ones. ²⁸ And Moses said, “Hereby you shall know that the Lord has sent me to do all these works, and that it has not been ^(C)of my own accord. ²⁹ If these men die as all men die, or if they are visited by the fate of all mankind, ^(D)then the Lord has not sent me. ³⁰ But if the Lord creates something new, and ^(E)the ground opens its mouth and swallows them up with all that belongs to them, and they ^(F)go down alive into Sheol, then you shall know that these men have despised the Lord.”

¹⁵ And his affection for you is even greater, as he remembers ^(A)the obedience of you all, how you received him with fear and trembling.

^2 (A)I warned ^(B)those who sinned before and all the others, and I warn them now while absent, as I did when present on my second visit, that ^(C)if I come again I will not spare them—

¹⁰ So if I come, I will bring up what he is doing, talking wicked nonsense against us. And not content with that, he refuses to welcome the brothers, and also stops those who want to and puts them out of the church.

²⁰ among whom are ^(A)Hymenaeus and ^(B)Alexander, whom I ^(C)have handed over to Satan that they may learn not to ^(D)blaspheme.

¹⁰ For this reason I write these things while I am away from you, that when I come ^(A)I may not have to be ^(B)severe in my use of ^(C)the authority that the Lord has given me for building up and not for tearing down.

³ For though ^(A)absent in body, I am present in spirit; and as if present, I have already pronounced judgment on the one who did such a thing. ⁴ When you are assembled ^(B)in the name of the Lord Jesus and my spirit is present, with the power of our Lord Jesus, ⁵ you are ^(C)to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so ^(D)that his spirit may be saved ^(E)in the day of the Lord.^[a]
