²² Thus King Solomon excelled all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom.^(A)

¹² wisdom and knowledge are granted to you. I will also give you riches, possessions, and honor, such as none of the kings had who were before you, and none after you shall have the like.”^(A)

³⁰ so that Solomon’s wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the people of the East and all the wisdom of Egypt.^{(A) 31} He was wiser than anyone else, wiser than Ethan the Ezrahite and Heman, Calcol, and Darda, children of Mahol; his fame spread throughout all the surrounding nations.^(B)

¹² I now do according to your word. Indeed, I give you a wise and discerning mind; no one like you has been before you, and no one like you shall arise after you.^{(A) 13} I give you also what you have not asked, both riches and honor all your life; no other king shall compare with you.^(B)

² I want their hearts to be encouraged and united in love, so that they may have all the riches of assured understanding and have the knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ,^{[a](A) 3} in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.^(B)

⁴² The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to listen to the wisdom of Solomon, and indeed something greater than Solomon is here!^(A)

²³ Thus King Solomon excelled all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom.^{(A) 24} The whole earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put into his mind.^(B)
