¹⁵ Now therefore, ^(A)do not let Hezekiah deceive you or persuade you like this, and do not believe him; for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people from my hand or the hand of my fathers. How much less will your God deliver you from my hand?’ ”

¹⁵ Now if you are ready at the time you hear the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, and psaltery, in symphony with all kinds of music, and you fall down and worship the image which I have made, ^(A)good! But if you do not worship, you shall be cast immediately into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. ^(B)And who is the god who will deliver you from my hands?”

² And Pharaoh said, ^(A)“Who is the Lord, that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the Lord, ^(B)nor will I let Israel go.”

¹⁸ Beware lest Hezekiah persuade you, saying, “The Lord will deliver us.” Has any one of the ^(A)gods of the nations delivered its land from the hand of the king of Assyria?

¹⁰ For ^(A)do I now ^(B)persuade men, or God? Or ^(C)do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.

²⁶ Moreover you see and hear that not only at Ephesus, but throughout almost all Asia, this Paul has persuaded and turned away many people, saying that ^(A)they are not gods which are made with hands.

¹⁰ Then Pilate said to Him, “Are You not speaking to me? Do You not know that I have ^[a]power to crucify You, and power to release You?”

¹¹ Jesus answered, ^(A)“You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above. Therefore ^(B)the one who delivered Me to you has the greater sin.”

¹¹ Does not Hezekiah persuade you to give yourselves over to die by famine and by thirst, saying, ^(A)“The Lord our God will deliver us from the hand of the king of Assyria”?

¹⁰ “Thus you shall speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying: ‘Do not let your God ^(A)in whom you trust deceive you, saying, “Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.”

²⁹ Thus says the king: ^(A)‘Do not let Hezekiah deceive you, for he shall not be able to deliver you from his hand;
