¹⁵ Now when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe and all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall down and worship the image I made, very good. But if you do not worship it, you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what god^(A) will be able to rescue^(B) you from my hand?”

² Pharaoh said, “Who is the Lord,^(A) that I should obey him and let Israel go? I do not know the Lord and I will not let Israel go.”^(B)

¹⁸ “Do not let Hezekiah mislead you when he says, ‘The Lord will deliver us.’ Have the gods of any nations ever delivered their lands from the hand of the king of Assyria?

¹⁰ Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people?^(A) If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

²⁶ And you see and hear how this fellow Paul has convinced and led astray large numbers of people here in Ephesus^(A) and in practically the whole province of Asia.^(B) He says that gods made by human hands are no gods at all.^(C)

¹⁰ “Do you refuse to speak to me?” Pilate said. “Don’t you realize I have power either to free you or to crucify you?”

¹¹ Jesus answered, “You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above.^(A) Therefore the one who handed me over to you^(B) is guilty of a greater sin.”

¹⁰ “Say to Hezekiah king of Judah: Do not let the god you depend^(A) on deceive^(B) you when he says, ‘Jerusalem will not be given into the hands of the king of Assyria.’

²⁹ This is what the king says: Do not let Hezekiah deceive^(A) you. He cannot deliver you from my hand.
